Oaktree Living is one of six business units within the Hewitson Group. That means groundworks, plant, haulage and civils sit under the same roof — so remediation, roads and sewers on our sites are self-delivered rather than subcontracted out.

Because we sit within the Hewitson Group, the parts of a residential scheme that usually cause programme risk — demolition, asbestos removal, contaminated ground, roads and sewers — are handled by companies we own. Hewitson Limited and HAB Northern take on the remediation and infrastructure while our own site teams get on with the homes.
That control shows in the specification. Air source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery and M4(2) accessible layouts are standard rather than optional, and we have twice delivered the first off-gas stock a housing association has taken on.

Carbon emissions are a key contributor to climate change, so we have plans in place to offset the group's footprint — using the 390 acres of Hewitson Farms that surround our head office at Teesside Grange.
